1 What time does my swim start?
Swim start times are to be confirmed
2 Where do I put my swim number?
The swim number should be placed on the outer part of your upper RIGHT arm.
3 Do I have to wear a swim cap?
Yes. It is part of our water safety plan that swim caps are worn to identify swimmers in the different distances.
4 Are there age restrictions?
Yes, age restrictions apply and are dependent on the distance you choose.
5 When do registrations close?
Online Registrations close at midnight on Friday March 5. Participants will also be able to register on the day, a late fee of $5 per participants will apply.
6 Can I enter on the day?
Yes, participants can register and participate on the day. A $5 late fee per participant will apply. Registrations will close 30 mins prior to the start of the first event.
7 Can I change my registration or event distance?
You can change your registered distance by emailing ows@wa.swimming.org.au. It is recommended if you wish to change your distance to do so as early as possible to avoid queues.
You will be issued a new e-ticket and race number when you change your distance and will not be able to use the old one.
8 Is the event timed?
Yes, the event will be timed by BlueChip Timing
9 When will the results be published?
Results will be available in live time via a link from the website
10 What swimsuits am I allowed to wear?
There are no restrictions on swim suits. Wetsuits may be worn. We do not recommend wearing any items of jewellery. If you do wear jewellery or fitness watches it will be at your own risk and the Event will not take any responsibility for those items being lost or damaged.
11 What are the course maps?

12 What does the entry fee include?
Your entry fee covers the costs of a professionally organised and timed event, including safety provisions. infrastructure, operational services and event activities.
You will also receive a bottle of water at the finish line.
13 What time do I need to arrive before my swim?
We recommend arriving no later than 30mins before your designated Start Time. Check in closes 10mins prior to the swim start time.
14 Where can I park?
Ample parking can be found at Marina Mindarie Parking is also available at the Quinns Mindarie Surf Club for participants in the Club to Pub, however we recommend being dropped at the start line
15 What if the event is cancelled?
Due to the protected nature of the Classic and Splash and Dash, we do not expect these distances to be cancelled. Should ocean conditions warrant the cancellation of the Club to Pub, participants will be notified and offered the opportunity to participate in separate Wave Starts for the 1.25km option.
Open Water Swimming standards will be applied to weather and sea conditions for the 2.5km swim, with event cancellation occurring in line with these standards.
16 What is the refund policy?
No refunds will be offered under any circumstances
17 Am I allowed a paddler?
Paddlers are not permitted for the swim events, only for the SUP event. The event Water Safety Plan has provisions for a number of Stand Up Paddlers to support the safety of participants.
18 Is there a bag drop service?
There is no bag drop service for The Marina Swim. The car park is located directly adjacent to the finish precinct, so accessing items stored in your vehicle is very simple. The event hosts the most wonderful spectator area, we suggest that your valuables can be left with your support team while your swim is taking place. Organisers take no responsibility for the storage of your personal items.
19 What water safety is in place?
On water safety will be provided for all events, with further safety personnel located at various jetty exit points around the courses. This includes a number of Stand Up Paddlers and powered craft that will supervise swimmers over the course/s
